Loudoun Laurels Foundation Honors Leaders and Scholars at Annual Gala
The Loudoun Laurels Foundation recently celebrated its 2024 honorees at a spectacular Celebration of Life and Leadership Gala event, expertly orchestrated by Executive Director and IBWC Member Nikki Daruwala, who demonstrated exceptional leadership in planning and executing the celebration at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne.
Among the evening’s highlights was the recognition of two exceptional scholars. Diego Chavez, a Potomac Falls High School graduate now attending George Mason University to study applied computer science, received a prestigious four-year scholarship sponsored by Beatric McNelly and the Caimi-Markis Family Fund. The scholarship, valued at $40,000, will be distributed in $5,000 semi-annual increments throughout his undergraduate studies.
The Foundation, which has awarded over $1.1 million in scholarships to 29 LCPS students since 2013, also honored J. Randall Minchew and Stephen Price as its 2024 Laureates. These distinguished individuals were selected for their demonstration of selflessness, integrity, creativity, wisdom, and courage in their service to Loudoun County.
